AVAILABLE VOLUNTEER POSITIONS

Recruitment Coordinator Part Time
Girls 4 Science is Chicago's only all girls' science initiative. We are a 501c3 nonprofit organization. The program operates a quarterly 6 week science academy at one of Chicago's City Colleges on Saturdays for free. Participants are between the ages of 10-18 and work with certified instructors on science, technology, engineering and math topics.

Job
• Identify students for quarterly 6 week Saturday Science program
• Distribute Girls 4 Science information to schools, churches, etc. for student recruitment
• Present Girls 4 Science information at workshops as scheduled
• Manage and coordinate volunteer mentors for each session
• Maintain records of participants for email and tracking purposes
• Assist the Parents Advisory Board with fundraising initiatives
• Build and manage volunteer database records
• Build and manage database for Friends of the Program and donations
• Manage and update volunteer materials
Qualifications
• Available to work from home and attend meetings as advised
• Good at formulating and implementing creative strategies for problem solving
• Self-motivated
• Excellent interpersonal skills
• Writes and speaks in a friendly, concise manner
• Proficient in MS Office
• Ability to work with outside agencies
• May be asked for a background check

Program Coordinator Part Time

Job Work with Program Director and identify science activities for students Plan themed field trips and speakers Create pre and post assessment for activities Ability to work with Recruitment Coordinator with outreach efforts and student retention Ability to blog about activities and create social media interest for the program Assist with training mentors for the program
Qualifications Science, technology, engineering or math background preferred Experience with working with youth Ability to work on Saturdays Good at formulating and implementing creative strategies for problem solving Self-motivated Excellent interpersonal skills Writes and speaks in a friendly, concise manner Proficient in MS Office Ability to work with outside agencies May be asked for a background check

Administrative Assistant Part Time

Job Create and maintain filing system Uses PowerPoint, MS Word, and Excel to prepare correspondence Uses social media outlets to coordinate online followers Maintain corporate governance, including filing charitable solicitation registrations, Process expense reports Supports Executive Director, Program Director, and other G4S team members
Qualifications Available to work from home Good at formulating and implementing creative strategies for problem solving Self-motivated Excellent interpersonal skills Writes and speaks in a friendly, concise manner Proficient in MS Office Ability to work with outside agencies Attention to detail May be asked for a background check
